Born and raised in Kuala Ketil, Kedah, Dato’ Anand Raja began his educational journey locally before pursuing a Degree in Law from the University of London. His professional career started in the legal field, where he partnered with Mohammad Azhar to establish a law firm, gaining valuable experience in legal practice and corporate governance.
Recognized for his leadership and contributions, he was conferred a Datukship in 2013. During his early professional years, he was actively involved in politics under MIC Kedah (2012–2017), where he developed a deep understanding of community leadership and national development. Eventually, he chose to redirect his focus toward philanthropy and social service, founding and leading Yayasan Kebajikan Kebangsaan Malaysia (YKKM) and GOTO (Global of India Organisation) to drive education, welfare, and humanitarian initiatives.
Following his political tenure, he was also associated with MIJP (Malaysian Indian Justice Party) before dedicating his full attention to his own foundations and business ventures.
His motivation in life and work comes from the desire to build opportunities for others, to inspire young entrepreneurs, and to strengthen Malaysia’s economy through sustainable and ethical practices.

Dato’ Anand Raja admires Tun Samy Vellu’s leadership, humility, and passion for nation building, and strives to carry forward those same principles in his own journey.
Outside his professional duties, Dato’ Anand Raja enjoys playing badminton, driving, and collecting classic cars, hobbies that reflect his appreciation for discipline, balance, and craftsmanship. He also enjoys reading about business strategy, history, and global economics, as well as travelling to explore new cultures and perspectives.
